EU hinted to Russia about bad relations in the future over Navalny case

Russia is receiving hints from representatives of the European Union that the situation around Alexei Navalny will negatively affect bilateral relations in the future. This is reported by TASS with reference to the words of the Permanent Representative of Russia to the alliance Vladimir Chizhov.

“We are receiving quite powerful signals from the European Union that the incident with Navalny in one way or another will inevitably affect the entire range of relations in a negative way,” a Moscow representative said. Chizhov added that Russia is not abandoning the investigation into the Navalny case.

Earlier, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, compared the Navalny case to the poisoning of a former GRU officer Sergei Skripal and his daughter in British Salisbury in 2018. According to von der Leyen, “this behavior of the Russian authorities will not change.”

On September 2, the German government said that military toxicologists had found traces of a substance from the Novichok group in Navalny's body, and called on the Russian government to respond to this information. Russian doctors say that no poisons were found in the patient's analyzes. On September 10, it became known that Navalny had completely recovered. On September 14, he was disconnected from the artificial lung ventilation (ALV) apparatus, and the Russian was able to get out of the hospital bed.
