The EU should have taken more time and made a tougher decision, – Kuleba on visas for Russians

At an informal meeting in Prague, EU foreign ministers agreed on a significant reduction in the number of new Schengen visas for the Russians. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba commented on this decision.

In addition, it will be more difficult and longer for Russians to obtain Schengen visas. According to Kuleba, it is better to spend more time discussing a tough decision than choosing half measures.

Kuleba commented on the decision on visas for Russians

During conference “Forum 2000” in Prague, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine noted that on the way to victory there will always be difficult elections and the temptation to make half a decision against the aggressor and achieve a balance.

At the same time, Kuleba added that the era of peace in Europe has ended, as well as the era of half-measures. Therefore, he called for being decisive, loyal and tough, because this is the only way to win a war against a country like Russia, which is led by Vladimir Putin.

So if I faced with a situation where I have to choose between half measures, for example regarding visas, and no measures, I would choose neither measure. I would rather take more time for discussion, more time to find a solution that would present a really tough event,” the Foreign Minister said.

According to Kuleba, this is precisely the policy that will lead to victory

“I am completely sure that this is not only my confidence, this is how Ukrainians feel,” summed up the Foreign Minister.

Curious! Estonia, the Czech Republic will not issue visas to Russians , Lithuania and Latvia. In addition, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium and Japan have introduced some restrictions on the issuance of certain types of visas.
