During the meeting, which again considered the issue of imposing the sixth package of sanctions against Russia, the EU ambassadors were unable to reach an agreement.
According to the Brussels correspondent Rikard Yuzwiak, the EU ambassadors will meet tomorrow, May 30, in the morning to discuss sanctions against the Russian Federation again.
The journalist wrote about this on his page in Twitter.
“Today, there is no agreement among the EU ambassadors on the sixth package of sanctions against Russia. They will meet again tomorrow morning,” he noted.
The journalist clarified that the sixth package is not can agree not only because of the oil embargo, since Hungary requires additional exemptions, but also because some EU countries do not want to prohibit the sale of real estate to Russians in E Europe.
“But there are those who do not agree with the proposal to ban Russian citizens from buying real estate in the EU,” Jozwiak explained.
Recall that due to Hungary's position on the oil embargo, leaders of some EU countries propose to ban the import of oil from Russia, which is transported by sea, and temporarily allow supplies through pipelines.
