If the military stays in the country for a long time, then new barracks will be built for them.
The Estonian Ministry of Defense says that the country is ready to accept the NATO Rapid Response Force to strengthen the Baltic region.
ERR writes about this with reference to the Chancellor of the Estonian Ministry of Defense Kusti Salma.
“We clearly see that the Baltic region should be strengthened in the containment policy. There are clear plans on how to do this if necessary,” he said.
According to Salm, Estonia is ready to deploy on its territory about 5,000 troops from the NATO Rapid Reaction Force.
“Tapa has a territory for accepting allies, where you can store equipment, weapons and distribute them to units. So that units can move from there,” the chancellor added.
Salm also noted that if there are not enough places for the soldiers in the barracks, they can be placed in tents. And if the military stays in the country for a long time, new barracks will be built for them.
Recall, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in an interview that NATO member countries are ready to discuss with the Russian Federation issues of arms reduction, including nuclear weapons.
