The Estonian Defense Ministry has decided to supply Ukraine with Javelin anti-tank missiles and 122mm howitzers. This was announced by the head of the international cooperation department of the Ministry of Defense Peeter Kuymet, RIA Novosti reports.
According to him, since 2014, Estonia has been helping Ukraine in the training of military doctors, artillerymen, and soldiers of special forces. Now that the Russian military is again concentrating on the border with Ukraine, Estonia is going to significantly increase its support, Kuymet said.
“We are currently considering the possibility of providing Javelin missiles for anti-tank missile systems, as well as 122 mm howitzers and ammunition for them,” he said, explaining that before making a final decision on the supply of weapons, Ukraine needs to obtain permission from the country of origin of the missiles. that is, the United States, as well as from the former owners of howitzers – Finland and Germany.
At the end of November, the Military Times, with reference to the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, already reported on the use of Javelin in Donbass. Then the military leader noted that these complexes will be used along with the Turkish Bayraktar drones and will become a significant psychological deterrent.
