Not everyone will be provided with one-time assistance for renting housing.
From September 11, only Ukrainian refugees who have recently arrived in the country will be provided with one-time assistance for renting housing in Estonia.
This was reported by the Director General of the Department social security Maret Maripuu, writes ERR.
According to her, there are many Ukrainian refugees in the country who have been living in Estonia for over a year and have now applied for help with renting housing after extending their initial residence permit. From September 11, only those refugees who applied within the first six months after receiving their first residence permit will be eligible for rental compensation.
To receive rental compensation in Estonia, Ukrainian refugees must have temporary protection status and register their place of residence with the local government. Currently, all Ukrainians who arrived in Estonia from February 24, 2022 and have temporary protection can apply for compensation. The maximum one-time compensation is 1,200 euros per household.
Recall that Germany has introduced new conditions for receiving unemployment benefits, which may affect Ukrainian refugees.
