Escalation near Ukrainian borders – White House on Russian-Belarusian military exercises

On February 10, the active phase of the military exercises of the Russian Federation and Belarus “Allied Resolve 2022” begins.

The US presidential administration considers the joint military exercises of Belarus and Russia, starting on February 10, as a threat of escalation near the Ukrainian borders.

This was during a briefing on Wednesday, February 9, said White House Speaker Jen Psaki.

According to her, Washington is concerned about the military exercises of the Russian Federation and Belarus, as they see it as a threat to further military buildup of troops near the borders with Ukraine. At the same time, she stressed that we are not talking about a possible attack on our state.

“It certainly worries us, but I don’t want to predict that this means an invasion,” Psaki stressed.

It should be reminded that on February 10 military exercises of Russia and Belarus begin. The Kremlin says these exercises are purely defensive in nature. However, the West suspects that this is part of Russia's preparations for a possible invasion of Ukraine and is already building up its military presence in Europe.
