Kalina, commenting on the negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, believes that Ukrainians should see concrete steps from the Russians.
The speaker of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Ibrahim Kalin, expressed his position on the war in Ukraine. He blamed Russia for prolonging the fighting in Ukraine.
He said this in an interview with CNN Turk, commenting on Erdogan's yesterday's conversation with the presidents of Russia and Ukraine.
Erdogan's speaker expressed hope that the Russians would continue the “truce” they had announced, and that Ukraine would join the call.
“Mostly Russian bombing continues this war and complicates any negotiations. At the very least, a unilateral ceasefire meant that Russia would stop, and then Ukraine. And this is what our president yesterday called for the two leaders. We can achieve a local ceasefire “This may turn into a kind of negotiating environment that will bring the negotiators back together, but we will continue to repeat these calls. But we will continue to repeat these calls, telling the facts. Neither side seems ready to lay down their arms and sit down for negotiating table. And we are concerned that we will see a further escalation of the conflict in Ukraine over the next few months,” Erdogan's spokesman added.
Kalina, commenting on the negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, believes that the Ukrainians should see concrete steps on the part of the Russians – the withdrawal of troops and the exchange of prisoners – so that they sit down at the negotiating table.
“Ukrainians need to see some concrete steps from the Russian side, such as the Russian plan for the withdrawal of troops from the territory of Ukraine and the exchange of prisoners, the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, the extension of the grain agreement,” he said.
Kremlin “truce” for Christmas
Recall, on January 5, Russian President-dictator Putin ordered his military to cease fire along the entire line of clashes between the parties in Ukraine on Christmas Day. The Kremlin called on the Ukrainian side to also declare a ceasefire on holidays
The next day, the Russian Defense Ministry expectedly accused Ukraine of non-compliance with the “ceasefire” regime for Christmas, without mentioning the shelling by the invaders. The fact that the Russian army does not adhere to “the most proposed truce” was confirmed by the Pentagon.
