Recep Erdogan
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was predicted to lose power. Such a statement was made by the former Prime Minister of the country Ahmet Davutoglu on his Twitter, RIA Novosti drew attention to his words.
According to him, the Turkish leader is under the influence of the forces that carried out the coup in 1997. Davutoglu believes that Erdogan's supporters support those behind this event.
“Only outwardly it seems that the country is ruled by Erdogan. At the next stage, they will overthrow him, ”the former prime minister said.
On February 28, 1997, then Prime Minister Necmettin Erbakan signed a memorandum under pressure from the local military. Among other things, he guaranteed the resignation of the prime minister and the observance of the principles set by the first Turkish President Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. The coup is called “velvet” because the military did not dissolve parliament and did not immediately suspend the constitution. Four months later, Erbakan was forced to leave his post.
