Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan plans to visit the capital of Ukraine Kiev on February 3. This is reported by TASS with reference to the office of the Turkish head of state.
It is noted that Erdogan announced his intention to pay a visit to Ukraine on January 21. On February 3, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Ankara and Kiev will be celebrated.
At the same time, the Turkish president’s visit to Ukraine will take place before a meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, who accepted Erdogan’s invitation to visit Turkey.
Earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that Ankara expects Putin’s visit after his trip to the opening of the Olympic Games in Beijing. Prior to that, the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov said that Putin had accepted the invitation of the Turkish leader to visit the country. This will happen as soon as the schedules of politicians and the epidemiological situation allow.
