Turkey is determined to take its rightful place in the new world order that will emerge after the coronavirus pandemic, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan said. His reasoning is quoted by the Anadolu agency on Saturday, November 21.

“First of all, for this purpose, steps will be taken to improve the legal and economic system, increase production and employment in the country,” he said, addressing members of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) via videoconference.

Erdogan also recalled Ankara's desire for European integration and the desire to build the future together with Europe. According to him, the authorities intend to deepen cooperation with all friendly countries. “Turkey is also ready to actively use its close allied relations with the United States to resolve all regional and global problems,” the Turkish leader concluded.

Earlier, the Turkish President said that the country has made more progress in the fight against coronavirus than many developed countries. Discussing the country's place in the new world order, he noted that this is a leading position.

At the same time, on October 30, the leaders of the European Union said at an informal virtual summit that they did not see any positive signals from Turkey. The head of the European Council Charles Michel accused the Turkish authorities of unacceptable statements. On November 24, Erdogan advised French President Emmanuel Macron to treat the psyche after he promised to protect his country's secular values from radical Islam.
