Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has reproached Western countries for inaction amid the deteriorating situation in Ukraine. The words of the Turkish leader are quoted by TRT Haber.

The politician said that Western countries have so far done nothing to reduce tensions between Russia and Ukraine, while the conflict continues to worsen. “If you pay attention to this process, then, unfortunately, the West has not done anything to resolve this issue yet,” he stressed.

On the eve of February 3, Russian political analyst Andrei Suzdaltsev said that the strengthening of the confrontation between Russia and Ukraine is beneficial to Erdogan for several reasons. According to the expert, Moscow and Kiev will “ingratiate themselves” with the Turkish leader, and he will organize the supply of Russian gas bypassing the border of Ukraine via the Turkish Stream, and will also build a factory of his drones on the territory of Ukraine.

Earlier, after talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky, Erdogan once again expressed his readiness to receive the leaders of Russia and Ukraine and arrange their meeting in Ankara. In his opinion, this meeting will help the heads of state to settle differences.
