Erdogan ordered to close cafes and restaurants in the evening

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the government is ordering new measures against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus: all businesses, including cafes and restaurants, will close every day at 10 pm. This was reported by Reuters with reference to local television.

Hairdressers, swimming pools, cinemas, banquet and wedding halls will also be closed. According to the agency, this decision was made at a time when Turkey is experiencing a record outbreak of the disease. It is known that on Monday, November 2, more than 2.3 thousand new infections were detected in the country – however, it is noted that the Turks report in official statistics only about those patients who show symptoms of COVID-19.

The French authorities took more serious measures in October: President Emmanuel Macron introduced a curfew from 21:00 to 06:00. Economists estimate that it will cost the French two billion euros.

According to the Johns Hopkins Institute, more than 1.4 million cases have been identified in France and there are 37 thousand deaths due to coronavirus-related causes. Turkey, however, reports 379 thousand infected and more than 10 thousand deaths.
