Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his country has been waiting too long to join the EU.
He said this during a speech in Turkish Parliament, DW reports.
The Turkish President added that Turkey “expects nothing more from the European Union,” which has kept his country waiting “at its door for 40 years.”
“We have fulfilled all the promises we made to the EU, but they have fulfilled almost none of theirs,” he said.
He stressed that he would not “tolerate any new demands or conditions” for his accession countries in the EU.
Meanwhile, the bulk carrier Aroyat arrived in Turkey – the second ship following the temporary corridor through the Black Sea. On board Aroyat – 17,600 tons of Ukrainian grain.
