Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will give a “historic speech” on Saturday, July 12, the theme of which will likely be the fight against terrorism.
Haberler reports this.
According to the speaker of the Justice and Development Party (AK Parti) Omer Celik, the speech will be devoted to the process of creating a “Turkey without terrorism.”
“The state has used many methods in the fight against terrorism. Turkey is now at a stage where all security forces are fulfilling their duties, but in the current situation, an opportunity has arisen for the terrorist organization to lay down its arms. Foreign forces in our region are using terrorist groups,” Celik noted.
He stressed that the process is proceeding according to a clearly defined plan.
“The process is proceeding according to our plan and everything will be implemented within a few days,” the ruling party representative added.
There is no official confirmation of the topic of Erdogan's speech, but observers consider it an important event against the backdrop of a new wave of security initiatives in Turkey.
