Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Ankara, like Moscow, has every right to participate in the settlement of the Karabakh conflict, Anadolu agency reports.

Addressing journalists on October 23, the head of state emphasized that the Russian side had not voiced any claims about Turkey's inclusion in the settlement of the conflict. Erdogan added that the OSCE Minsk Group was unable to achieve any results in this matter.

Earlier, Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay confirmed Ankara's readiness to send troops to Azerbaijan to support Baku in the conflict in the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. He stressed that the country “does not hesitate” in this matter.

The territorial conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh sharply escalated on September 27. Armenia and Azerbaijan decided to cease fire on humanitarian grounds from 00:00 local time on October 18. The parties later accused each other of shelling and non-compliance with the ceasefire.
