Turkey did not stop interacting with Israel at the level of intelligence services, despite the existing problems with the country's leadership. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, quoted by the Daily Sabah newspaper.
“The main problem now is individual people in the country's leadership,” Erdogan told reporters. He explained that Ankara cannot come to terms with Israel's policy towards Palestine. However, Erdogan noted that Turkey still hopes to improve relations with Israel.
In recent months, more and more Muslim countries have announced the normalization of relations with Israel.
Thus, on September 15, Israel, the UAE and Bahrain signed a peace agreement at the White House. According to the agreements signed, Abu Dhabi and Manama will recognize the State of Israel, while it will suspend the spread of sovereignty over Jewish settlements in the West Bank. In a joint statement, the countries announced that the move would allow further progress towards peace throughout the Middle East.
On October 23, Israel agreed to normalize relations with Sudan. On December 10, a similar agreement was reached with Morocco. In both cases, the United States also acted as intermediaries.
