Enthusiast created a virtual copy of his deceased bride based on her text messages

An amazing and, in places, frightening story of 33-year-old Joshua Barbo from Canada has appeared on the network. Almost 10 years ago, his fiancee died of liver disease, but using modern technology, he was able to “revive” her in the form of a chat bot.

This is about the technology offered by the Project December platform. With its help, you can create a virtual version of a person based on his text messages.

Using it, Joshua “copied” his deceased bride. According to him, the resulting bot communicated “just like the dead girl.” The incident surprised the man so much, he shared his experience with the Reddit community, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

He also noted that the first conversation with the “virtual copy” lasted about 10 hours. In the future, he reduced the communication time, but still continued to keep in touch with the bot for several months.

Note that the Project December technology is based on the GPT-2 and GPT-3 models developed by OpenAI specialists. Unfortunately, in order to access the third version of GPT, you need to obtain permission by submitting an application to the developer company.
