Prince Philip passed away
The English Football Association (FA) expressed their condolences to the royal family after the death of Prince Philip and expressed their deepest condolences. “Our thoughts are with the royal family,” said a statement on Friday. “As a token of our respect, all flags at Wembley and St. George's Park will be flown at half mast.”
Prince Philip died on Friday at the age of 99 at Windsor Castle. He was FA President from 1955 to 1957 and then Honorary President of the national association.
At the side of the British Queen Elizabeth II, he attended the 1966 World Cup final at Wembley, which the English won against Germany. He was also at the European Championships in 1996 with the Queen as a guest of honor in the London stadium.
Tottenham coach Jose Mourinho even interrupted the press conference of his Premier League club on Friday when the news of death got through to him. “I have a deep, deep, deep, extreme respect for the Royal Family,” said the Portuguese, expressing his sympathy. “I believe that these feelings are not only shared in this country.”
