England coach Gareth Southgate has added defender Ben White to his squad for the European Football Championship. The 23-year-old from the Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion is replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool, who sustained a thigh injury in the closing stages of the 1-0 friendly against Austria last Wednesday. The English FA announced this on Monday morning.

White made his debut for the national team against Austria. At the EM dress rehearsal on Sunday evening in Middlesbrough against Romania (1-0), he played through – although initially not nominated for the 26-member EM squad. The “Three Lions” are continuing their preparation for the European Championship this week in their base camp at St. George's Park. They will start the tournament on Sunday in London against Vice World Champion Croatia.
