England's association has called on its own fans with an urgent appeal to unconditionally support the national football team. The background to the public letter distributed via Twitter is the fear that spectators could boo against Croatia on (today) Sunday before kick-off at Wembley Stadium because of an anti-racism gesture by the team. England's players want to get on the ground with one knee before their European Championship games.
“Those who oppose this gesture should bear in mind the message they are sending to the players they support,” wrote the FA association. At the same time, a 100-second video was published by the national team. “If we read the comments, see the emojis or hear the boos, then we suffer together,” says the clip. “This is not about politics. This is not new. This is about humanity. Community. Equality. We need you this summer.”
