Engineers told how to protect gadgets in hot weather

Direct sunlight can additionally heat the surface; too high a temperature can lead to a decrease in the capacity and life of the battery of gadgets. SberService engineers have made recommendations on how to avoid the adverse effects of hot weather on mobile devices (RBC has it).

Engineers advise avoiding direct sunlight, for example, in a car, you should put your phone in the shade. And while sitting at a table in a street cafe, it is recommended to leave your phone in your pocket or put a hat on it.

In the phones themselves, engineers recommend setting the screen brightness to automatic mode and limiting the number of simultaneously running applications in order to reduce the load on the battery.

“Most modern gadgets have overheating protection, and in the event of a sharp rise in temperature, they go into emergency mode. If this happens, place the phone in the shade, in a cool place, as soon as the temperature returns to normal, the phone will return to working condition, ”added SberService.

Engineers advise against using wireless charging, as it causes additional heating of the battery.

In no case should you cool your mobile devices by putting them in refrigerators. Sudden changes in temperature and use of devices in humid locations can cause condensation to form, which is harmful to mobile devices.

When the phone heats up, engineers advise the following:

  • put the phone in the shade;
  • remove the cover (if any), this will allow the device to cool faster;
  • enable airplane mode, this will disable the Wi-fi, Bluetooth and cellular transmitters.

Other equipment can also fail – computers, laptops, as well as Wi-Fi routers. This is most often due to the accumulation of dust inside the equipment. The simplest solution is to vacuum the ventilation holes, this will ensure free movement of air flows and proper heat removal from the gadget case.

In conclusion, SberService engineers say the following: modern technology can withstand intense heating, but to maintain performance, you should not leave gadgets in direct sunlight for a long time, you need to protect it from overheating during charging and regularly check the cooling system.
