Moscow. April 16. INTERFAX.RU – The State Corporation “Roscosmos” and the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) are planning to create an engineering space center on the Russky Island in Vladivostok – the Far Eastern Regional Center for Earth Remote Sensing, the press service of the university reported on Friday.
The report notes that Roskosmos plans to deploy laboratories at the Far Eastern Federal University for the implementation of research, development and technological work in the field of using the results of space activities, including the reception and processing of Earth remote sensing data.
According to the signed agreement, joint work will be focused on using the results of space activities, popularizing this scientific area and training highly qualified personnel for the rocket and space industry.
The issues of joint activities were discussed during a working trip to the FEFU of the Roscosmos delegation headed by Deputy General Director Mikhail Khailov. Representatives of Roskosmos on Russky Island considered the options for locating the center, checked the state of the Earth remote sensing data receiving station, which had already been installed on the territory of the university.
It is noted that the project of the Far Eastern Federal University and Roscosmos is being implemented as part of the execution of the order of the President of the Russian Federation, according to which a high-tech engineering complex is being formed on the Russky Island.
