Russian invaders launched a missile attack on Ukrainian soldiers in Nikolaev. This happened the day before, March 18.
This information was confirmed by the head of the Nikolaev Regional Military Administration (OVA) Vitaly Kim. According to him, the rescue operation is still ongoing.
– Yesterday “orcs” vilely hit our sleeping soldiers with a rocket. The rescue operation is still going on, — he noted.
Kim added that he did not want to voice details, as he was waiting for official data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine regarding possible victims and victims.
According to Vitaliy Kim, Ukrainian the military also continues to clear villages of enemies.
– On the military unit – we clean the villages, push the “orcs” back. I don’t want to comment on this either, because the tactic with human losses is not our tactic, we are moving carefully. These “orcs” – it's just a disaster. Yesterday they were shooting at the villages, frightened… We are slowly killing them, they meanly shoot rockets at sleeping soldiers,” he added.
Nikolaev Mayor Oleksandr Senkevich confirmed that the enemy attacked the city on the morning of March 18. According to him, the blow was delivered to the barracks.
Thus, Sienkevich, during a video message on Facebook, commented on the question of whether it was true that the enemy attacked the location of the 79th separate air assault brigade.
– People were saved there. They attacked the barracks there. Fortunately, some of the facilities were empty, there was no one there. Someone got hooked. I will not give you more information, because this information is military, and I cannot share it with you,” Sienkiewicz said.
According to him, the Russian Federation did not have time to warn about the missile attack (there was no air raid warning), since it came from the territory of the Kherson region, the settlements of which were temporarily occupied by the enemy, that is, from a very close distance.
– There was no alarm, because we were attacked from the Kherson region. And we simply do not have time to give this alarm. The bombardment is happening faster than we can find bearings and launch systems,” the mayor explained.
He clarified that if enemy troops attack from the temporarily occupied Crimea or “from more distant frontiers” , then the alarm is activated.
The enemy attack on Nikolaev was also reported at the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security, created under the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy. They emphasized that there is no official data on the dead and injured as a result of the attack yet.
– Mykolaiv was bombed by the invaders on the morning of March 18. According to journalists, there are dozens of dead… Some Western journalists report that at least 40 Ukrainians were killed as a result of the barbarian attack in Nikolaev. According to preliminary information, these are the military. There is still no official information on the number of dead and injured, — emphasized in the Center for Strategic Communications.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine have not yet published official information about the situation in Mykolaiv.
