The European Union insists on a meaningful dialogue between Baku and Karabakh.

The European Union after he announced to Azerbaijan about the cessation of the military operation in Karabakh he warned Baku against expelling the local population from this region.

This was stated by the speaker of the European Union Foreign Service Peter Stano at a briefing in Brussels, reports the European true.”

“We have taken into account the latest announcement by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense that an agreement on a ceasefire and cessation of hostilities has been reached. We expect Azerbaijan to stop the current hostilities,” Stano notes.

According to him, it is important for the EU that this military operation is not used as a pretext for the forced expulsion of the local population from the territory of Karabakh.

“It is also important to immediately return to a meaningful, honest and real dialogue between Baku and Karabakh. We also took into account the announcement that such a meeting should take place on September 21,” says Stano.

Also, according to him, the EU is monitoring the situation very carefully and member countries will make the following decisions in this context , taking into account the development of events on the spot.

We recall that yesterday, September 19,the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan made a statement about the start of “anti-terrorism measures”in Karabakh. In Baku it was noted that there will be only legitimate military targets and military infrastructure will be withdrawn.

However, just a day later, on September 20, the “authorities” of Karabakh announced that they would cease fire and lay down their armsfrom 13:00 of that day In turn, Azerbaijan announced that it was ending “anti-terrorist measures.”
