Neuralink startup Elona Musk showed a video with a nine-year-old monkey Pager, which can play video games thanks to a chip implanted in its brain. The video was posted on the company's blog.
In the frames, you can see how the monkey with the joystick plays a game where he needs to move the cursor after the orange square. After that, the joystick was removed from the macaque and the game MindPong was turned on, which simulates ping-pong. In this game, the animal controlled and controlled in-game actions with its mind using implanted neural filaments.
Recall that in early February, the founder of SpaceX and Tesla, Elon Musk, announced the implantation of a chip into the monkey's brain, which made it capable of playing video games. As he clarified, the implanted chip is completely hidden under the skin of the primate without harm to it, and the animal itself is happy. According to him, Neuralink has created “the best conditions for monkeys,” and admitted that in the future they would like monkeys to play ping-pong with each other.
