The global satellite Internet system Starlink, which is being deployed by Elon Musk's SpaceX, is already faster than a traditional terrestrial connection. In at least three countries – Canada, New Zealand and the UK.
In the first, Starlink delivers data download speeds of about 86.92 Mbps, with a wired average of 84.24 Mbps. In New Zealand, Starlink is doing even better – 127.02 Mbps versus 78.85 Mbps for local providers. Well, in the UK, despite the lower 108.3 Mbit / s than in New Zealand, Starlink bypasses standard wire communication more than twice. British Internet operators average no more than 50.14 Mbps.
Recall that Ilona Mask's project has existed since 2015. The first test satellite prototypes were launched into orbit in 2018. Since then, more than three dozen launches have been carried out, the last of which took place on June 30. The next launch of Starlink satellites should take place tomorrow, August 10th. Meanwhile, the Russian sales of Huawei FreeBuds 4 wireless headphones have started.
