Starlink satellite internet speed has reached a record high, exceeding 600 megabits per second. Reported by the publication Wccftech.
A record figure – 649 megabits per second – was recorded on Twitter by a blogger from Germany under the nickname awlnx. According to him, the Starlink Internet network reached a record speed on June 15 at 20:45 local time. This is more than 100 megabits per second higher than Elon Musk's record speed achieved in the United States.
However, due to the high speed, the latency increased to about 56 milliseconds. This is not enough for efficient data transfer during video conferencing and online games. Also, a user from Germany said that when reaching a record speed, his terminal for receiving a signal, located on the street, warmed up to 56 degrees. At the same time, at the moment the air temperature was 35 degrees.
The previous Starlink speed record was also recorded in Germany. The local user received a download speed of 560 megabits per second, the latency was 13 milliseconds.
Earlier, Starlink users from the US reported that outdoor receivers get very hot in summer heat and turn off. This happens when the temperature of the satellite dish reaches 50 degrees and above.
