SpaceX has reached a milestone in the construction of the Starship reusable launch system. The Starship spacecraft was put on a prototype of a super-heavy accelerator. This booster, in turn, is powered by a complete set of 29 Raptor rocket engines. Starship has six more engines.
The assembled structure is now the tallest rocket ever built in history. The height is about 119 meters. Together with the orbital launch pad on which the rocket stands, the height is already almost 145 meters. This is more than the Pyramid of Cheops.
The rocket will not stand in this form for long. Probably the next step will be to split the two halves of the system. Both will be further developed and tested. It is not yet clear when the rocket will be launched for the first time. There is information that SpaceX intends to do this by the end of 2021.
