SpaceX founder does not believe in Ukraine's victory in total war.
American billionaire and inventor, founder of SpaceX Elon Musk, who supported Ukraine at the start of a full-scale Russian invasion, is today calling for Kyiv's virtual surrender, and his company no longer wants to fund Starlink communications in Ukraine. The billionaire says he does not want the conflict to escalate into a nuclear war, but experts do not exclude that such a change in Musk's position may be due to the influence of the Russian special services. The media even reported that Musk discussed his “peace plan” personally with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
TSN.ua figured out how Elon Musk's views have changed and what is behind it .
Problems with Starlink communications
In September, Elon Musk's SpaceX company approached the Pentagon with a request to take over the financing of government and military use of Starlink satellite communications in Ukraine.
In a related letter released by CNN, SpaceX said it could no longer continue funding Starlink in Ukraine. The company said that more than $120 million is needed to pay for services by the end of 2022 and about $400 million over the next 12 months.
“We are unable to further donate terminals to Ukraine or fund existing terminals for an indefinite period of time,” the letter reads.
The letters come amid recent reports from the Ukrainian military about massive disruptions to Starlink that could influence the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Many such disruptions were recorded during the breakthrough of the Ukrainian military front line into the occupied territory. And some problems were fixed during the battles.
Scandalous “peace proposals”
On October 3, SpaceX founder Elon Musk angered society with a scandalous statement about peace talks between Ukraine and Russia. He suggested holding a “re-vote” on the Ukrainian territories illegally seized by Russia. Musk also said that Russia is conducting a partial mobilization, because “Ukraine's victory in a total war is unlikely.”
In addition, he wrote that “in the eastern regions, the majority of the population prefers Russia.” Musk launched on his Twitter a vote on pseudo-referendums in the occupied territories and the issue of Crimea.
Let's try this then: the will of the people who live in the Donbas & Crimea should decide whether they're part of Russia or Ukraine

In response, the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky tweeted your joke vote:
Which Elon Musk do you like better:
Which @elonmusk do you like more?

On October 7, Musk wrote that he was “a fan of Ukraine, but not World War III.”
Ukrainian social media users reacted to Musk's statements with memes and ironic messages. TSN.ua has collected the best of them.
In turn, volunteer and showman Sergey Prytulainvited Ukrainians to buy a history textbook for the inventor.
The Russian trace in Musk's statements: main versions
Human rights activist, director of the Institute for Strategic Studies and Security Pavel Lisyansky believes that Musk could have made his scandalous statement about Ukraine at the suggestion of the Russian intelligence services, recruiting opinion leaders around the world.
“They began to mobilize opinion leaders. Look at Elon Musk – this was done on purpose, to put it on the agenda. Everyone started discussing this as an alternative. Elon Musk is the highest level… They are actively buying up in the West in different countries leaders of public opinion at all levels – trade unions are mobilizing, other platforms to they bleached the Russian Federation… This is a huge network of agents of influence,” Lisyansky said.
According to the expert, RF “is gradually moving into the political plane of decision question wasp of the end of the war in Ukraine“.
