An unusual case of detention took place in Egypt. It is reported that the country's authorities suspected the robot artist Ay-Du of espionage, in connection with which she was not allowed to fly to an exhibition of contemporary art, detaining her right at the airport in Egypt.
According to The Guardian, the robot artist spent about 10 days in detention. They let her go literally yesterday. The suspicious Egyptian authorities thought there was a modem and cameras in the “eye” of the robot, thanks to which the android is able to draw. The services were embarrassed that with the help of these technical means she was able to conduct a conversation.
“ Let's finally clear up the situation. She's not a spy. People are afraid of robots, I understand that. But the situation is ironic, because the goal of Ay-Dy is to warn about the abuse of technological development, and she was detained only because she is a robot, ”said the creator of the robot, Aidan Miller.
