Easter 2022: when they celebrate and rest in those countries where refugees left

After February 24, 2022, a large number of Ukrainians moved to other countries of the world, fleeing Russian aggression and wars. Easter is a big holiday for both Catholics and Orthodox Christians. Ukrainians who have gone abroad because of Russia's war against Ukraine should know when around the world celebrating Easter 2022 and how many days off are planned. This information will be useful especially for those who want to solve important bureaucratic issues, because state institutions will not work on Easter weekends.

In Ukraine, Easter 2022 falls on April 24. But on this day, the holiday is not celebrated in all countries. Here is a list of the most popular countries among Ukrainian refugees:

1. Poland: this is a Catholic country, which means that Easter 2022 here falls on April 17th. Holidays in the country will be introduced on April 16, 17 and 18, 2022.
2. Czech Republic: this country is also dominated by Catholicism, so Easter will be celebrated on April 17. The days off in the Czech Republic will be from 15 to 18 April 2022.
3. Germany: Easter 2022 is celebrated in Germany on April 17, because mainly Catholics live here. Weekends are scheduled for April 15, 16, 17 and 18.
4. Moldova: This country celebrates Easter with a Ukrainian on April 24th. And there are four days off in Moldova (together with Good Friday) – April 22, 23, 24 and 25, 2022.
5. Romania: this is also an Orthodox country, and therefore Easter 2022 year falls on April 24th. Here, as in neighboring Moldova, the days off will be April 22-25, 2022.
6. USA: The United States of America is a multi-religious country with a large population of both Catholics and Orthodox Christians. There are no special traditions for celebrating Easter here. Therefore, the holidays will only be on Saturday and Sunday – April 16 and 17 (April 23 and 24).
7. France: Catholics predominate here, so Easter 2022 falls on April 17. The base days will be from April 16 to April 18, 2022.
8. Slovakia: Catholicism prevails in the country, Easter is celebrated on April 17, 2022. Holidays start on Good Friday (April 15) and continue until Easter Monday (April 18).
9. Slovenia: Easter 2022 is celebrated here on April 17. There are few days off – April 17 and 18, 2022.
10. Bulgaria: this country celebrates Easter together with Ukrainians, because Orthodoxy prevails here. In 2022, the holiday falls on April 24th. And the weekends are scheduled for April 22, 23, 24 and 25, 2022.
