Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said that a war similar to the Ukrainian one could unfold in East Asia if the states that are regional leaders do not act to maintain peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.

Fumio Kishida stressed that peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait are crucial not only for Japan's security, but also for international society.
“Japan supports the position that issues around Taiwan should be resolved through peaceful dialogue. We will closely monitor the situation from this point of view,” the Japanese Prime Minister concluded.
