Earthquake strikes again in Turkey

Tremors were recorded near one of the largest cities in the country.

On Monday, February 27, an earthquake occurred near the city of Izmir, one of the largest in Turkey. The magnitude of the tremors was 4.1 points.

This is reported by the Agency for Disaster and Emergency Management.

The epicenter of the earthquake was recorded in the Izmir Bay at a depth of 14.5 km at 20:22 Kyiv time.

Earlier, we reported that Ukrainian rescuers in Turkey released a woman who had been under the rubble for more than 205 hours. Also, employees of the State Emergency Service released dozens of the dead.

Recall, on February 6, a powerful earthquake of magnitude 7.8 occurred in Turkey and Syria. The number of victims is more than 50 thousand people.

On February 18, tremors again occurred in the Turkish province of Kahramanmarash, destroyed by the earthquake. However, they were less powerful.

Two more earthquakes on February 20 occurred in the Turkish province of Hatay. Because of them, at least 6 people died, hundreds of residents were injured. The risk of repeated earthquakes remains in the country.
