“An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.2 occurred off the east coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia. A tsunami warning has been issued. According to the European Mediterranean Seismological Center, the earthquake was recorded at a depth of about 51 km,” the report says.

Later it became known that the Shiveluch volcano began erupting in Ust-Kamchatsk. It threw ash 8 km away and was assigned an orange aviation hazard code.
