Law enforcement officers exposed a criminal group that for three years profited from the scheme of selling newborn children abroad. They estimated the cost of one baby at € 50-70 thousand.

The group consisted of six men, two of whom are the founders of a private clinic. There they recruited women from low-income families who agreed to the program as follows called surrogacy.

The investigation established that the deceived women were forced to leave for the Czech Republic to give birth to babies.

& # 8212; At the same time, no medical documents spoke of surrogacy, but it was indicated that babies were born according to the standard procedure. In the birth certificates of children, the mother was noted as a citizen of Ukraine, and the father was a foreigner, & # 8212; said in a police report.

After birth, women were forced to sign a waiver of the child in favor of foreigners. According to the investigation, over the course of three years the criminals about were rich by more than € 1.2 million.

During searches in a private clinic and places of residence of suspects, all documents confirming the fact were seized trade in babies, stamps of medical institutions and premium cars.

All six were notified of suspicion of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 149 (Trafficking in persons) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. For what they have done they face from eight to fifteen years in prison with possible confiscation of property.
