70 million users appeared on Telegram due to yesterday's global failure in the work of foreign social networks, wrote the creator of the messenger Pavel Durov in his channel.
“Yesterday, Telegram saw a record increase in the number of registrations and activity,” Durov wrote.
He added that he is proud of the team's efforts to cope with the unprecedented growth in user numbers.
The previous evening, a global failure was recorded in the work of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, which could not be eliminated for more than six hours.
Against this background, in Russia there was a record increase in users of Twitter, Telegram and VKontakte. On the evening of October 5, some Facebook and Instagram users faced problems again.
