Ilnaz Galyaviev, who organized the shooting at a school in Kazan, announced his plans on the Telegram channel created for this just 20 minutes before the attack on the gymnasium. The messenger's moderators acted quickly and blocked the criminal's channel for an hour for inciting violence. This was announced on Wednesday, May 12, by the Russian entrepreneur and founder of the messenger Pavel Durov in his Telegram channel.
– At the time of the attack, there was exactly one participant in the channel – its creator himself. 15 minutes before the attack, the attacker made the channel public. Probably intended to leave it as a suicide note. Complaints and subscribers appeared in the channel only after the killer was detained, he said.
According to Pavel Durov, even if law enforcement officers somehow monitored all channels in Telegram, they would hardly have been able to prevent the tragedy in such a short time, because the Kazan killer did not give any specifics and did not disclose the details of his intentions.
– Emotional reaction in connection with monstrous events – search for the culprit among third parties, from the creators of the video game to the leadership of schools. But it must be admitted that it is impossible to completely protect oneself from the actions of mentally unstable people, – said the founder of the social network.
The entrepreneur stressed that such tragic events should not serve as a pretext for organizing a “witch hunt” or “turning society into a concentration camp.”
