On the Moscow Exchange, the ruble weakened against the dollar and the euro.
Less than an hour after the publication of information about the planned evacuation from the temporarily occupied territories of Donbas by the leaders of the “LDNR” on Friday, February 18, the national currency in Russia has significantly weakened.
This is reported by the Russian agency TASS.
During currency trading on the Moscow Exchange, the ruble fell in price both against the dollar and against the euro.
As of 16:09 Moscow time (15.09 Kyiv time), when it became known that the leaders of the “DNR” and “LNR” started a mass evacuation to the Rostov region of the Russian Federation and, allegedly, reached an agreement on this, the dollar was trading at 76.06 rubles (+0.29%), euro – at the level of 86.36 rubles (+0.28%).
As of 16:46 Moscow time, the dollar exchange rate was already 76.17 rubles (+0.44%), the euro rate accelerated growth to 86.47 rubles (+0.42%).
Recall that the press secretary of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov, said that he had no information about the evacuation of residents of Donbass to the Rostov region.
