Polish President Andrzej Duda considers Ukraine's membership in NATO “invaluable” from the point of view of his country's national interests.
He spoke about this on Wednesday, December 20, during a meeting of the Polish Security Council with the participation of the new government of the country.
According to Andrzej Duda, he, as the president and the new government of Poland, must act together in implementing the intentions of Ukraine’s European integration.
“From a security point of view The issue of Ukraine's future membership in NATO is extremely important. The decision that the North Atlantic Alliance would take in this area would be invaluable. Firstly, we are pushing back NATO’s eastern flank in this part of our border east of Poland, which is of obvious importance from the point of view of the security of our country,” the Polish leader emphasized.
In addition, in his opinion, Ukraine today “has one of the best armies in the world,” so Poland will receive in NATO “a strong military partner, who at the moment already has vast military experience, taking into account two years of defense from Russia”.
“In terms of combat, Ukraine has experienced military personnel who use the most modern technologies, after all, this is a war of the 21st century, if you look at least at the use of drones. This is all of great importance for our security,” concluded Andrzej Duda.
Recall that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky believes that any signals from partners about Ukraine’s likely “partial” entry into NATO are “nonsense.”
