The governor claims that 17 drones were shot down over the region, and the Ministry of Defense reports four.
Drones launched an attack on the Kursk region of Russia on the night of July 25. Explosions were heard in the region, the authorities announced the work of air defense.
This was reported by the Governor of the Kursk region Alexey Smirnov and Russian telegram channels.
In the Kursk region at night explosions were heard. Local residents filmed them. The regional governor reported on the air defense work and called on local residents to move away from the windows. Subsequently, Smirnov reported that a drone had been shot down over the Medvensky district.
Later, the governor stated that the air defense allegedly shot down 12 more drones, and an hour later – four more.
According to Smirnov, in the village of Yubileiny, Kursk region, a house caught fire as a result of falling fragments of a drone . A resident of the house tried to put out the fire on her own and received burns. Medics treated her on the spot.
As the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on the morning of July 25, at night air defense allegedly shot down four Ukrainian drones over the territory of the Kursk region, three over the territory of the Belgorod region, four over the territory of occupied Crimea and the Black Sea. The department also assures that fire weapons destroyed two unmanned boats in the Black Sea that were heading towards Crimea.
By the way, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with kamikaze drones on the night of July 25. In particular, on the approaches to Kyiv the air defense shot down all the drones.
