Drones Attack Russia at Night: Gas and Oil Refineries Hit

Soon, Russian channels reported that kamikaze drones attacked fuel and energy complex (FEC) facilities in the Astrakhan region. In particular, a local gas processing plant was damaged – a fire started there.

Governor Igor Babushkin later confirmed that there were no casualties.

Drones attacked a Lukoil oil refinery in Volgograd, Russia. After the attack, power went out in several areas of the city.

Volgograd residents counted at least 50 explosions during the operation of air defense.

“The Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant was attacked. This is one of the key energy facilities of the Russian Federation, ensuring the processing of gas condensate and the production of gasoline, diesel fuel and more. The plant affects the military-industrial complex of Russia, since the fuel and energy sector is the main source of financing for the defense sector,” wrote the head of the National Security and Defense Council Center Andrey Kovalenko.

Recall that on the night of December 19, the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Refinery in the Rostov Region was attacked by drones. The plant plays an important role for the defense industry of the aggressor country Russia.
