In Russia, drones attacked a gunpowder plant near Tambov on the night of January 16. This plant is one of the main suppliers of explosives for the Russian army.
Russian Telegram channels and the head of the Ukrainian Center for Countering Disinformation Andrey Kovalenko reported this.
Russian publics write that eyewitnesses reported four explosions in the sky. First, they heard the characteristic sound of a drone engine over the city of Kotovsk. The drone flew over houses and headed towards a gunpowder factory in the village of Kuzmino-Gat.
Russians claim that three drones were shot down in the area of Kuzmino-Gat and Kotovsk. There were no casualties. The UAV debris partially damaged the roof of a private house, local authorities reported.
In turn, Kovalenko noted that the Tambov Powder Plant is not the first time it has come under attack. The head of the TsPD noted that the enterprise is one of the key facilities of the Russian military-industrial complex involved in the war against Ukraine.
“Gunpowder is produced there, which is used for various types of small arms, artillery and rocket systems. Also coloxylin, used in the creation of explosives and other specialized products,” Kovalenko said in a statement.
He emphasized that this plant is one of the main suppliers of explosive materials for the Russian army. With the start of a full-scale war in Ukraine, production at the plant has increased significantly.
Recall that earlier the Russians announced a massive attack by allegedly Ukrainian drones on a number of regions. Residents reported the operation of air defense and numerous explosions.
