Police officers can issue a fine for an air conditioner in a parking lot in a populated area of Poland. However, according to statistics, patrol officers often limit themselves to a warning.
In Poland, drivers face a fine for using air conditioning in their cars. It is imposed if the car is parked with the engine running for more than 1 minute.
Auto Swiat writes about this.
The authors of the material explain: if we are standing, waiting for the green light, then our car is moving and the engine can be running. However, if we stop in a parking lot under a store or on the sidewalk, then a minute after stopping, theoretically, the engine should be turned off. However, the requirement does not apply outside populated areas.
What is the fine for air conditioning in a car?
For parking for more than 1 minute with the air conditioner on within a populated area, the driver may be issued a fine of up to 100 zlotys (about 1200 hryvnia).
At the same time, this type of offense is generally treated quite leniently. The authors admit that the risk of encountering a police officer who wants to fine you for cooling your car at a stop is small. Moreover, in certain situations, such behavior is even justified (for example, there is a small child in the car, it is hot outside).
Police officers can also use Article 60 of the Road Traffic Act and fine drivers 300 zlotys.
As we wrote earlier, cars from the USA are very popular among Ukrainians. However, they have one common problem, for which you can get a fine. We are talking about the color of the turn signals.
In Ukraine, since 2017, there has been a standard according to which turn signals must be only yellow. This rule, at first glance, may seem unimportant, but it is related to road safety – yellow signals are much more visible, especially at night and in bad weather.
