These weapons are actively used by the aggressor against our state.

The DPRK is developing the Renson machine-building complex to expand the production of KN-23 ballistic missiles. This is necessary both for their own needs and for supplying the Russian Federation.

This was reported by the head of the National Security and Defense Council Center Andrey Kovalenko.

Details

According to the National Security and Defense Council, the construction of an additional assembly building, a new residential building, and the installation of entrances to some underground facilities are being recorded at the facility of the February 11 Plant complex. The new building significantly exceeds the size of the previous building. New construction has also been recorded at the neighboring Vinalon February 8 complex for the production of rocket fuel.

Kovalenko adds that earlier, North Korean engineers were “working on the mistakes” of the Russian army's use of KN-23 ballistic missiles on Ukrainian territory. Now the intensity of their use has increased.

“It is possible that the scaling up of the production of these missiles is of a dual nature. On the one hand, the supply of missiles to Russia. On the other hand, the parallel creation of missile stockpiles by Pyongyang for further escalation on the Korean Peninsula against South Korea,” the department concluded.

Earlier it was reported that in January-November Russia launched 194 ballistic missiles at Ukraine, of which about 60 were North Korean KN-23, in which parts produced in Western countries were found.
