DPRK may prepare for submarine ballistic missile test
North Korea may prepare for the upcoming ballistic missile submarine (SLBM) test, Interfax reports.
According to Beyond Parallel, the think tank for strategic and international studies, North Korea has relocated a submersible missile test bench at a shipyard on its east coast.
“Satellite imagery from Maxar Technologies, taken at 11:09 am ET this morning, shows North Korea moving its submersible missile test barge located at the southern Sinpo shipyard,” the experts said in a statement.
Earlier, South Korean and American authorities announced the launch of two ballistic missiles in North Korea. The rockets reportedly landed in the Sea of Japan outside the Japanese Exclusive Economic Zone.
The DPRK then reported that the corresponding step was self-defense against the backdrop of the joint military exercises of the United States and South Korea. In connection with the launch of the missiles, the UN Security Council held an extraordinary meeting on March 30.
