Dozens of doctors have contracted the coronavirus after attending a Christmas party in southern Spain. It is reported by BBC News.
According to the publication, most of the nearly 70 infected are employees of the intensive care unit of a hospital in Malaga, Spain. Doctors have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, they are currently in isolation.
It is noted that at least 170 guests were present at this party. In connection with this incident, official Madrid urged Spanish citizens to refrain from going to public events.
Earlier, the World Health Organization (WHO) said that one in ten Europeans will be infected with the coronavirus by the end of the week. The WHO spokesman stressed that his forecasts for an increase in the number of infections among Europeans were confirmed by laboratory tests. The increase in the incidence of COVID-19 is observed in all age groups, especially among citizens aged five to 14 years.
