Dozens of people killed and injured in a car explosion in Afghanistan
A car bomb exploded in eastern Afghanistan in Logar province. According to preliminary data, dozens of people died and were injured. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to eyewitnesses.
A mined vehicle exploded in the city of Puli Alam in front of the Central Hospital on April 30 in the evening. It is alleged that the target of the attack by the unknown was a building located next to the medical facility, since there are a large number of civilians and military personnel. Eyewitnesses say that the explosion was so powerful that windows were shattered in houses located several kilometers from the explosion site.
According to the latest data, the explosion killed 30 people and injured over 60 more. Dozens of people remain under the rubble of the destroyed building. Several buildings, including the hospital, were partially destroyed.
Afghan President Ashraf Ghani blamed the explosion on the radical Taliban.
Earlier it became known that the United States began to withdraw troops from Afghanistan. At the same time, the Pentagon retained the right to send an additional contingent of armed forces to the country to ensure the safety of servicemen leaving the country.
