Experts have found numerous spyware in alarm clock apps for smartphones running on the Android operating system.
In the course of a study conducted by Roskachestvo, experts examined 70 alarm clocks, says Moscow 24. As it turned out, 49% of them request permission to access geolocation, view the local Wi-Fi network and contact list, and some – the ability to read and identify phone numbers … However, for the functioning of alarm clock applications, additional access to sections of the device is not required, experts noted.
According to experts, the most secure alarm clock for Android is the “Clock” program by Google. They also recalled that almost all smartphones have a pre-installed alarm clock program. Third party apps, however, offer more options.
