Does a back flip and serves as a companion: Xiaomi showed its first robop
The Chinese company Xiaomi has shown the world a new four-legged companion robot CyberDog. The cyberdog is equipped with sensors and cameras. This allows her to plot a route, overcome obstacles and follow her master, RIA Novosti reports.
The robotic dog can also carry out various human commands, for example, do back flips and serve as a companion. It is built on the NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX platform and uses open source algorithms. There is a chance that this will be a great potential for enthusiasts, who, if desired, can upgrade and transform the dog into any other machine. It is noted that the robot dog is fast, has high maneuverability and a wide range of motion. It's all about the engine developed by Xiaomi. Thanks to him, CyberDog can perform a series of movements at a speed of 3.2 meters per second and perform complex actions such as back flips. The dog can also respond to voice commands.
In addition, CyberDog is equipped with cameras and 11 high-precision sensors, including sensor and ultrasonic, GPS modules. The company said that it will release 1,000 four-legged robots for Xiaomi fans, engineers and robotics enthusiasts “in order to jointly explore the enormous possibilities of CyberDog.”
Earlier it was reported that the first robot teacher will start working at Tomsk University on September 1. Students will learn about programming, electronics, and mechatronics. Also, laboratory work will be carried out based on the results of the lectures. TUSUR students will learn how to create and program robots. Their developments will help people solve a variety of tasks – from cargo delivery to processing requests in the banking sector.
